Ribbon Cutting for Dream Centers' Family Service Center!
Dream Centers was created in 2011 to fill a critical and much needed gap in care for individuals and families in El Paso County struggling to afford healthcare and housing due to violence and generational poverty. Our mission is to provide health and hope to people who are working to rebuild their dreams. In 2011, Dream Centers opened its first program, the Women’s Clinic to provide free, holistic healthcare to women who are uninsured and under-insured. In 2015, Mary’s Home was established, to provide transitional housing and supportive services for single mothers and their children who are experiencing homelessness. Since opening the Women’s Clinic in 2011, thousands of women have been given access to free healthcare that they otherwise may not have had and 33 families have found a safe place to heal at Mary’s Home.
Extreme Dream is the first step we are taking to expand our services through the completion of the Family Life Center and Family Service Center. We built the Family Life Center in just 10 days with the help of several community partners, in October, 2018. Since then we have been working to complete the Family Service Center. Combined, the buildings will provide much needed classrooms, community space, a children’s play room, kitchen, counseling rooms, and case management and administrative offices. The completion of the project will also make space for three additional families at Mary’s Home totaling 15 apartments for families.
