New Summit Announces groundbreaking for new Gym complex
New Summit Academy will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of their full-size Gymnasium on June 7, 2022.
Open to both the school and the community, the Gymnasium will open a whole new world of opportunities for all those who use it. It will provide a place for students to play sports and serve as a gathering place around which social activities can occur. The two-story, high school-sized gymnasium space will occupy about 10,200 square feet, and will include bleachers, janitor, restrooms, changing rooms, vestibules, electrical room, and storage.
Having opened its doors in 2018 with over 500 students, New Summit Charter Academy has developed and now offers grade K-8 and plans to apply for a high school to be added in the future. This non-profit, tuition free, public charter school, serves families with kids ages 3 and up within and around school districts 11, 20, and 49, as well as the Briargate area. It also provides preschool for children ages 3-5 and full-day kindergarten for families who opt for this choice.
