Meet the Speakers
 
Kathy Boe, 2020 Board Chair of the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC, is the Founder and CEO of Boecore, Inc., an entrepreneur with more than 25+ years of engineering and leadership experience supporting the Department of Defense. Her career began as a software programmer for a complex missile system and advanced through a series of technical and managerial roles prior to founding Boecore in 2000.  Under Kathy’s leadership the company has grown to a workforce totaling over 275 employees supporting a variety of technical disciplines including Advanced Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology and Specialized Mission Operations. Boecore is headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO with a regional office in Huntsville, Alabama and site operations in New Mexico, California, Washington, and Virginia.
Boecore has received numerous industry awards including the 2013 ‘Company of the Year’ from the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC, ten Top Supplier awards from Northrop Grumman and was a 2008 recipient of the Department of Defense Nunn-Perry Award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense. In 2013, Kathy received ‘Business Leader of the Year’ from the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce and was awarded ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in Colorado Springs in 2009. Kathy served as the 2020 Board Chair for the Colorado Springs Chamber/EDC.  She also serves as a trustee for the Colorado Thirty Group, Colorado Springs Health Foundation and National Cybersecurity Center. Most recently Kathy was named an Honorary Commander of the United States Air Force Academy. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Pepperdine University.


Mike Juran, 2021 Board Chair of the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC, is the CEO and co-founder of Altia, a user interface development software company headquartered in Colorado Springs, with offices in Detroit, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Seoul. 
Prior to co-founding Altia, Mike was a Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories in Holmdel New Jersey, Marketing Manager at AT&T Microelectronics Europe in Munich, Germany, and software developer at Hewlett Packard in Colorado. Mike has a B.S. in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. 

 
Dirk Draper is the president and chief executive officer of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation. His expertise and leadership keep the Colorado Springs region at the forefront of business development and economic growth, helping existing and future businesses, as well as our five military installations, thrive.
He and his team have won state and national awards for membership growth (1,400+ strong) and the design of their website. They have also successfully advocated for business-friendly policy at the local, state, and federal levels.
Before joining the Chamber & EDC in 2015, Dirk managed the Colorado Springs office of CH2M (now Jacobs Engineering), conducting community and environmental impact assessments for infrastructure projects. He is a past board member of both the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation (before their merger in 2014); Memorial Hospital; and the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute. In 2012, Dirk co-chaired the successful campaign to extend a one-cent sales tax to fund transportation projects.
Dirk earned an MS in Natural Resource Economics from Colorado State University and a BS in Agricultural Economics from the University of Missouri. Dirk and his wife Jeanie have three grown children. Together they enjoy camping, hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and birding.
